Black Bear

Bear Hunts

Troy has been hunting bear and guiding hunters for 30 years. He grew up in this ‘neck of the woods’ and has been hunting in this part of Maine for the past 35 years. Therefore, he knows the local area extremely well.  He currently leases more than 100,000 acres of prime bear habitat from private landowners to offer a fall bear hunt in Maine.

For the spring hunt, we work with Penobscot Guides, Joe Dana and John Neptune.  These hunts are conducted on Penobscot Nation territories. We are fortunate to work with two of the more experienced tribal bear guides. Joe and John offer 12 years of combined experience of guiding bear hunters.

Bear hunts mostly take place in the evenings; therefore you are able to spend your mornings enjoying other opportunities Maine has to offer. This could include sight-seeing, fishing, or just relaxing. However, gear up for an exciting hunt in the evening! There is no feeling like watching the “black ghost” appear from the shadows of the dense Maine woods. It is an adrenaline rush that won’t soon be forgotten! Troy would love the opportunity to show you the best bear hunting Maine has to offer!  Come enjoy spring or fall bear hunting in Maine with us.

Non-hunters are welcome to accompany the hunter. *See rates page for prices.
